The authors deal with the problem of ensuring sustainability and development of the microelectronic industry in Russia. The speci c of this problem is the need to reduce the numberof industries and enterprises involved in microelectronics and related production as much aspossible. Otherwise, the development of the microelectronic industry will require the development of a wide range of industries, some of which are related to the development of high technology, which Russia does not possess at present, while some of the industries require a multiple increasein production volumes. Determination of directions to solve the problem of reducing the numberof industries and enterprises, as well as ensuring the sustainability of the industry is based on the empirical and metaphysical general systems theory. This theory has in its arsenal collections of patterns - patterns of forms and relations, widely spread in various subject areas. To optimize the formation of the microelectronic industry, the authors propose to use the pattern of structure formation, and to ensure the stability of the industry, the patterns of additional degrees of freedom, patterns of xation and minimization of actions, and patterns of external stabilization. The practical implementation of these patterns has been considered.
