The transfer of scientific achievements to the economy requires the study of philosophical and methodological foundations of economic creativity. This task requires increasing the creative potential of economic activity in general. In this work, based on modern concepts of economics and creative thinking, special attention is paid to the emotional-value and aesthetic-figurative components. It is stated that these components ensure the integrity and creativity of economic thinking. The importance of economic contradictions has been underscored since their dialectical resolution is a creative act in economic activity. Consideration of the experience of studying economic contradictions at the end of the 20th century makes it possible to outline the ways of further development of these issues and of economic education improvement.
