The author presents an analysis of the properties of knowledge studied in science in socio-economic systems. The analysis establishes the dependence of the socio-economic system behavior on the information and knowledge component and substantiates the claim that it is necessary to produce knowledge for knowledge's sake, as well as to create one's own management agenda, without disconnecting from global practices and trends. The second part of the study substantiates the feasibility of competition through the extension of knowledge frontiers by economic systems. Grouped characteristics of knowledge for management, economic science, economic practice, and economic policy are presented. It has been established that the extended and malleable properties of knowledge become determinant of the socio-economic system and its ability to dominate.
