In this work, the main dimensions of leadership in the context of education are analyzed including pedagogical leadership, student leadership, and leadership of educational organizations. The concept of leadership in the field of education was defined as the presence of a system of qualities and properties of subjects (leaders) who are the most advanced in professional and personal aspects, and are able not only to quickly adapt to changing conditions of education, but also to shape the trends of these changes, which contributes to the improvement of the educational process. Emphasis has been placed on the axiological interpretation of the phenomenon of leadership. It has been concluded that leadership in education is the most important sociocultural value, since without education it is impossible to form a leadership personality as such.
