Prospects for the project methodology in teaching the humanities

Abstract:
In this work, the problem of project methodology in the context of teaching humanities is considered. The authors analyze the main stages in the development of project methodology in the USA and Russia. They define project methodology as the organized activity of students in conducting theoretical research and solving practical problems and classify projects by type of learning activity. The main functional areas for the using the project methodology in teaching humanities have been identified, with consideration for the optimization of the learning process based on a balance of individual and group work, intellectual and moral development, involving the development of research skills and basic competences through a special algorithm.
